Jury Duty!
Friday, April 29th, 2005Wow, that was fast. I received a note last week that I needed to register for jury duty for Schenectady county. It wasn’t a summons, just a request to declare my eligibility. So I filled the form out online on Monday.
The summons arrived today.
That’s some PROMPT scheduling. Makes me nervous.. like they said “Holy CRAP! Somebody actually returned our form! SIGN HIM UP.”
I wonder if it will be like my experience in New Mexico, where we sat around for several hours while the lawyers negotiated a plea bargain and then set us loose. Probably not. Socorro had 10,000 people in it. Schenectady county is about 20x larger in population. On the plus side, Schenectady just had it’s first murder last week, so that’s a pretty quiet run.
