Jailbreak
Synopsis:
Meanwhile... in an undisclosed location.... Yosen has been told that he is to free Nymvayas. He is given some equipment and some trusty dwarves that he can mind warp to his needs. This takes him several hours of preperation.
On his way in he disguises himself as Captain Ravensfeather and the dwarf as KrackenHeads. They make their way through the outer gates of the royal court unmolested.
On his way to the mage corp Yosen sees the rest of the party coming out of the mage corps. Realizing that the jig is up right there Yosen decides to abandon subtlety with brute force. He throws a large wave of fire and attempts to bull his way through the crowd to the entrance. As the rest of the party scatters in the wake of the flame, Triella draws on her magic and shatters Yosen's knee leaving the lower leg useless.
Yosen makes himself fly and dives headlong into the mage corps with the rest of the party following closely behind. During his decsent, Yosen welds his knee back togther: it cannot move or flex, but can support his weight. Once Yosen flies to the bottom of the dungeons he lands and gimps around the corner to the guards that are guarding Nymvayas (As Captain Ravensfeather). He tells them that there has been an attack and the guards are to head up to help the mage corp and he will stay here with the prisoner. As the guards leave the rest of the party is headed down the stairs and interecepts the guards.
Thus ensues a harsh, brutal fight, where the party is trying to shoot, disable Yosen while he attempts to delay them long enough to drop everything and open the prison door. Yosen pulls down part of the ceiling in an attempt to block the stairwell down and also manages to open up the floor to the upper levels.
Yosen finally manages to open the door to the prison releasing Nymvayas. Exiting the mana depleted zone she promptly attempts to gate out and fails, stunning herself. Yosen gimps to her, and gates them both out.
The sudden end to the combat is disorienting to say the least. Especially when the party reports this and Mazeriyan replies "yes, yes, everything is proceeding according to plan"
The party is told in a briefing with Mazeriyan and several others that they had been used as a distraction to keep the Dargai distracted while they reprogrammed Nymvayas to screw up the gating spell that she'll had been preparing to cast.
