Safiria and Crash stop at the bar called the "Bloody Nose and Broken Teeth". It is below low rent. They quickly pick up the chest that Varien had left for them. Safiria later reviews the contents: A ritual book, a bag of gold and a magic belt.
The majority of the party meets in one of Salim's alternate safehouses. Safiria reveals that Varien has apparently flown the coop. Rhogar lets it be known that Lucius had escaped the city and was holed up outside the city. Safiria uses her recently acquired ritual book to send a SENDING to Lucius a curt message telling him that he should get back into the city so the party can finish the job that they started. Lucius reenters the city under cover of darkness.
Salim fills the party in on a barracks that is housing some of the mind controlled troops that the Governor General is using. Salim himself has checked out the site. His plan is simple: kill all of the troops and capture the troop captain. The party makes some logistical and tactical inquiries and then heads out to do the job.
The party was reunited (with a few bumps and bruised egos). Salim put the party on the trail of on of the military patrols tha had been acting funny (mind controlled). The party broke in, slew the patrol and kidnapped the captain.
The party found shaved points on the heads of members of the patrol but no antennas or obvious methods of control. So the party said, let's chop one open to see whats up. The party found the skulls were full of tantacles, still squiggling. Repulsed, the party burnt the barracks to the ground.
Later the party interviewed the guard captain ( who also had a shave spot on his head) who gave up some information and then went all tentacle crazy, shed his skin and became a floating tentacle horror (fell taint) that tried to go all house on te party. The creature had some unpleasant powers including: when missed by a character, make a will attack to have the character repeat the attack against an ally. Pat missed with a daily, had it redirected to you and rolled a crit.
After reviving you, party moved to hide elsewhere
