Races/Drayen

The original race from which all other races are descended, and to which all races shall become, according to the philosophy of the Nilhen. According to the Nilhen, all races were once a single people (the Drayen), walking the shining path in the celestial firmament. Through discord, the Drayen fell from the path, and became the races that inhabit the world. The Elves and the Nilhen fell first, followed by the Humans, Dwarves and Dargai and other races. Some say the Drayan are still falling, pointing to the emergence of the Goblins from the Barraigh mountains in recent history (the goblins have no such story in their mythology). Human, Elven, Dwarven and Dargai mythologies and religious texts all contain aspects of this story, but with non-trivial discrepancies.
