This nation was founded by the great King Hebridon the 1st roughly 430 years ago, when he united sixteen feudal states under a powerful monarchy. His charisma, leadership and iron will are credited with the impressive feats that were attained during his 56 year reign. Scholars largely consider his rule to be the main reason why the human lands emerged from the dark age shadows of the Demarian occupation (350-359 EC). Aside from bringing the lords together under one banner, he established the city Kalen as the capitol, and brought together many functions under a central government, including a Royal army and mage corps, and the Church of Lexon (which can be considered analogous to the Church of England in many organizational respects).
Hebridonia originally had a largely human population, but its pleasant climate and (relatively) stable government have drawn immigrants from many of the surrounding lands. Today the population is still largely human, but its not unusual to find gnomes, halflings, ellylon, goblins and even the occasional elf. Since the Demarians purged Perridaun of its native population, Hebridonia has a fairly sizable contingent of fauns in its western baronies where the fleeing refugees settled.
The kingdom of Hebridonia has enjoyed trading partnerships with the Kyelsoran Elves, the dwarves of the Ardgour mountains and the Demarian Empire. Of those: There is active trading between Hebridonia and the Elves. There is no active trading between the dwarves and Hebridonia. There have been some reports of the dwarves attempting to reopen diplomatic and trade relations between themselves and Hebridonia. There is no current trade between Demaria and Hebridonia, in part due to the Pass at Cromdale being contested by the Demarians and Dwarves, and Hebridonia not having much interest in trade with the Demarians because of the most recent war where the Demarians sacked several cities in the Barony of Cromdale.
